










the rise of the roach tour finally hit Belgium, and surprise free, through deep nostalgic moments and energetic phases, it was a blast.
monday third February, after a long day for everyone, people can rejoice because the time to infest has come.
starting the evening with a brilliant dj set, studied carefully to let us all plunge into our teen times.
followed, super early by the opening act: wage war, Florida based metalcore band powerfully began their set.
hard task for them, to warm the audience up . nonetheless, succeeded with their typical breakdowns to detangle some knots formed during the anxious waiting for the headliner. they are well known and appreciated, so well that fans even started crowdsurfing an forming first moshpits. all of this surrounded by singers profound growls also as acute guitar riffs, despite the audio on them not so well balanced . a great choice for an opening . their presence is sometimes a bit shy but works well in general . let them win the war.
after their set, the roaches are clearly getting ready. iconic bug appeared on stage , on a banner. people lost it at that moment. while waiting, the tension building, rising. people shouting , getting relentless. few minutes from then, and it's their turn . silhouettes from the band appeared behind the banner warming the stage, once unveiled, fired erupted, Jacoby starting strong with their new song, his presence is ubiquitous. from his sharp voice to his hair. he is the frontman par excellence. (re)introducing his band members, boasting about them. shouting, jumping energetically without ever losing his breath, on top all along. through a particular old setlist, allowing new stuff to pop out from time to time. I mean there's space for everything, low amount of screams, giving more space for deep emotions, from forever to the dedication to his grandfather with roses on my grave, perfect fully executed. some tears might have been shed during one of the most important moment of the night, leave a light on, a meaningful message for all of us , we're all together to help people in their toughest moments. and the band giving monetary help to associations is a blow to our hearts. one more.
returning to the set, they also are supportive of other bands that made history in the same era as them . playing unforgettable riffs from friends as of SOAD, deftones, Korn, limp bizkit and also linkin park.
this was an hell of a show, even if the crowd was sometimes too shy and silent but nevertheless considering the depth of the songs, all of this behaviour was understandable.
useless to say, we're absolutely hyped for what's coming next; come to papa !
